Steepleton Car Park Extension

Alabas were appointed following a successful competitive tender for the construction of a 20 space car park extension at one of our later-living developments. Their detailed tender submission, competitive pricing and experience of completing similar jobs shone through, and contributed to their award of the project. Alabas were complete professionals in their delivery of the car park extension, working alongside our on-site operations team and liaising with residents, in a sensitive and respectful manner. The challenge of tying-in material choices for the extension to the original development, a requirement of the project, was dealt with transparently. Lighting bollards which had since been discontinued were sourced from a residual stock in Italy, just one example of Alabas going the extra mile to deliver on the quality product in which we desire. Having to down tools for a period of two weeks, at no fault of Alabas', as we looked to rectify an historic design issue which directly impacted the extension's construction, was dealt with efficiently, with subcontractors re-engaged in a timely manner to limit the impact on programme and to prevent a delay in completion. Alabas' communication was fantastic throughout, with both our project manager appointed on the project, and ourselves as the client. I would not hesitate to use them again, no matter the size of the project given their competency.

Steepleton in Tetbury is a beautiful collection of 68 independent, later living apartments operated by Pegasus (part of Lifestory). Following a tender, Alabas were asked to complete a much-needed extension to the parking provision.

Project Details

There was a requirement for 25 additional car parking bays to be created on previously unused land beside the existing car park.

To allow for proper drainage, these needed to be developed to an intricate design using porous concrete  – allowing drainage through the concrete to a conveyancing trench below.

Paths around the car park were created using block paving to fit in with the existing car park and allow easy access. Bollard lighting was also installed, and there is a plan to introduce EV charging points in the near future.

In addition to the original job above, Alabas were asked to do some additional works to the car park next door which needed some repairs. We were happy to comply – additional works are often requested by clients and we always try to be flexible to accommodate these.

The Alabas team are always a pleasure to work with . They have undertaken a number of office remodelling projects for us, and each time we have been really pleased with the work they've completed. They just get on with the job in hand, whilst being consistently approachable and friendly.
