So where does the Alabas story begin?
Alabas is run by Matthew Clarke who was previously the Managing Director at Chew Valley Building Co and prior to that a Director at R&D Interiors.
Chew Valley Building Co was originally set up to work with the residential market, but as time went on and word about the company spread, Chew Valley was asked to do more and more commercial work. As many of the team had previously worked with Matthew at R&D Interiors undertaking largely commercial refurbishment and refit projects, this was a natural progression. The locations where the team was asked to complete building and maintenance projects also spread far out of the Chew Valley area.
The team came to realise that they preferred working with their commercial customers, with lots of work in schools, retail, offices and retirement living. The feedback from these businesses was also that the personal service and level of project management they offered was a successful formula for projects that could be seen as too small to be interesting for many of the bigger building contractors.
Hence Alabas was born – focusing solely on working with businesses and schools/universities across the whole of the South West. You may have seen our site hoardings or perhaps spotted our vans about.
